Get File or Folder Metadata

UiPath.MicrosoftOffice365.Activities.Files.GetFileFolderMetadataConnections

Description

Retrieves file or folder metadata from SharePoint Document Libraries.

Scopes

This activity requires the following scopes:

  • Sites.Read.All

Project compatibility

Windows | Cross-platform

Configuration

  • Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint connection - The connection for the Microsoft 365 account to use in the activity.
  • File or folder - Browse through OneDrive items and select the file or folder to retrieve metadata for. Use the See more docs image button menu to switch to other input modes:
    • Enter URL option:
      • File or folder URL - The URL of the file or folder of interest. This field supports String type input. This field is displayed if you select the Enter URL input mode.
    • Use variable option:
      • Item - This field supports O365DriveRemoteItem type input. This field is displayed if you select the Use variable input mode.
    • Relative path option:
      • Parent folder - Browse for the parent folder. This field is displayed if you select the Relative path input mode.
      • Relative file or folder path - Specify the relative file or folder path to the parent folder, including the name and extension. This field supports String type input. This field is displayed if you select the Relative path input mode.
    • Select the Reload File or Folder Data option if you've modified your folders and need to retrieve the latest data.

    • Use Document library - Document library template - Document library item for metadata discovery. This field is displayed if you select the Enter URL or Use variable input modes.
      • Configure this field if you set the file from which to retrieve metadata using a variable. This enables the activity to discover the Document Library metadata. Select a document library from which the columns are to be retrieved.
  • Columns to retrieve - Select which columns to retrieve from the SharePoint list. Columns are populated based on the file's document library selected or using the Document library template. If the file is set using a variable and the Document Library is not set, the activity can't discover the columns. In this scenario, you can pass the Columns to retrieve list using the SharePoint column names. Note that the SharePoint column names may not be the ones visible in the SharePoint UI, because the UI shows the display names.

Output

  • File or folder metadata - File or folder metadata retrieved as DataRow.
