Adding Application Credentials for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace in Orchestrator

Note: The instructions on this page are not required if you use Integration Service connections.

Automations for Outlook 365 and Google Workspace apps require providing application credentials to connect to the services. To remove the need for Studio users to provide these credentials manually when adding their accounts from the Use Outlook 365, Use Gmail, Use Google Spreadsheet, Use Google Drive, Use Google Document, and Use OneDrive & SharePoint activities, administrators can create specific assets in Orchestrator to set up the required application credentials (application and tenant ID for Microsoft, client ID and secret for Google). Studio automatically loads the credentials from the assets and users can sign in directly to their accounts.

You can use either your organization's credentials or the default UiPath credentials. If you set up your own credentials, do not set up the default UiPath credentials as well.

Create the assets in an Orchestrator folder named uipath.settings.config and assign the users or groups who need access to the credentials to that folder. If the folder does not already exist, go to Tenant > Folders and create it.

Outlook 365 instructions

Note: Before you follow these steps, you must first add the UiPath application or create your own application in the Azure AD.

To use your organization's credentials, add the following assets in the uipath.settings.config folder:

For the Application ID:
- Asset name - UiPath.Mail.Activities.Business.ExchangeApplicationCard.ApplicationId
- Type - Text
- Global Value - The application ID from the the Azure Active Directory
For the Tenant ID:
- Asset name - UiPath.Mail.Activities.Business.ExchangeApplicationCard.TenantId
- Type - Text
- Global Value - The tenant ID, if specified by your Azure Active Directory admin

To use the UiPath credentials, add the following asset in the uipath.settings.config folder:

Asset name - UiPath.Mail.Activities.Business.ExchangeApplicationCard.UseUipathDefault
Type - Bool
Global Value - True

Google Workspace (G Suite) instructions

Note: You can use the G Suite configuration documented below starting with UiPath.Mail.Activities v1.10.4 and UiPath.Gsuite.Activities v1.11.0.

To use your organization's credentials, add the following assets in the uipath.settings.config folder:

For the Client ID:
- Asset name - UiPath.Activities.GoogleWorkspaces.ClientId
- Type - Text
- Global Value - The G Suite client ID
For the Client Secret:
- Asset name - UiPath.Activities.GoogleWorkspaces.ClientSecret
- Type - Text.
- Global Value - The G Suite client secret.

To use the UiPath credentials, add the following asset in the uipath.settings.config folder:

Asset name - UiPath.Activities.GoogleWorkspaces.UseUiPathDefault
Type - Bool
Global Value - True

OneDrive & SharePoint instructions
