ROI Dataset
If a user has the Admin role, they can configure the baselines for processes or queues. The Business ROI template only references process manual values, so a copy must be made for customization to include queues. If the admin has not entered any values in the dataset, the Business ROI template will be locked and you will be unable to access it until values are provided.
To configure the dataset, the Admin must do the following:
- Navigate to Insights on the desired tenant.
- From the 3-dot menu in the top-right corner, select Configure ROI Dataset.
- On the Dataset page, enter the manual time (in minutes) it would take a human to complete a process (end-to-end, consider the entire process
as a unit of one), as well as the cost involved by paying a human hourly to do the same process. The default of

will be saved as the manual time and hourly cost for any processes and queues that are not assigned new values.By default, the ROI Dataset shows the processes. To configure Queues, select Use Queue under Input Preference, then enter values for each queue item.
Note: When configuring the ROI Dataset, you can use numbers with up to 2 decimals.0
is also a valid value. - Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to complete the task.
The default columns in the ROI Dataset table are Manual Time and Hourly Cost.
To sort the default columns in an ascending or descending order, do the following:
- Click the column name.
- If the column is sorted by descending order, the arrow next to the column name is pointed down.
- To sort the column in ascending order, click the column name again. You can now see the arrow pointing up.
You can also add custom columns to the ROI Dataset. To add a custom column to the dataset, do the following:
- On the Dataset page, choose either Use Process or Use Queue to add a custom column to the Process or Queue Manual Values Explore.
- Select the Add button to add a custom column.

In the dialogue that pops up, enter a name for your custom column.
Note: Make sure to choose a column name with a maximum length of 100 characters. Duplicate names are not supported. - After you click Apply, the new custom column will be visible in the ROI Dataset page.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save the values entered.
To apply a value to all rows in a custom column, do the following:
- Click a custom column.
- In the newly open window, click Apply Value to All Rows.
- In the newly open window, enter a value to apply to all rows in that specific column.
- Click Apply to complete the task.
To rename a custom column in the ROI Dataset table, take the following steps:
- Click the custom column you would like to rename.
- In the newly open window, select Rename.
- In the newly open window, enter a new column name and click Apply.
To delete a custom column in the ROI Dataset table, do the following:
- Click the custom column you would like to delete.
- In the newly open window, select Delete.
- A new dialog box opens. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
To sort a custom column in the ROI Dataset table in an ascending or descending order, do the following:
- Click the custom column you would like to sort.
- In the newly open window, select Sort.
- If the column is sorted by descending order, the arrow next to the column name is pointed down.
- To sort the column in ascending order, click the column name, and select Sort again. You can now see the arrow pointing up.
- To use the custom column in a dashboard, create a new dashboard or open an existing dashboard in edit mode.
- Select Add Tile and choose Visualization.
- Click the Process Manual Values Explore if you added a custom column to the Processes ROI Dataset. Select the Queue ROI Explore if you added a custom column to the Queues ROI Dataset.
- In the Edit Tile window, click the Jobs or Queues views and select the Process Manual Values or Queue Manual Values field. You should now see the fields available for use and the newly created custom column field.
