Migrating agents to Studio Web
Moving the Agent Builder experience from the Agents workspace in Automation CloudTM into Studio Web directly impacts your existing agents.
All agents created with the original Agent Builder must be migrated to Studio Web as a solution package.
Starting May 14, 2025, Studio Web becomes the primary design and evaluation canvas for agents. The original Agent Builder will remain accessible for existing agents created during the Preview period, and only for users with prior access. However, it no longer supports creating new agents. New customers onboarding after May 14 will exclusively use Studio Web for creating and designing agents, without access to the original Agent Builder.
Starting June 14, 2025, all agents in Agent Builder transition to a read-only state. Use the Migrate option to migrate these agents into Studio Web solution projects. This migrates your agent definition, evaluations, and escalation apps to a new solution with an agent project. To learn what are the current limitations for agents in solutions, refer to Limitations.
By October, 2025, you must complete the migration of all your agents and update your processes accordingly. Any agents not migrated by this deadline will be automatically deleted. For agents created in Agent Builder that are part of deployed processes, they will continue to function until October 30, 2025, provided you have agent units in your account. However, if you lack agent units, runtime will be blocked.
To migrate agents created with Agent Builder into Studio Web, take the following steps:
- Select Agents from the Automation CloudTM left rail.
-
Navigate to the Legacy Agents tab to view a list of all agents created with Agent Builder.
- For each agent, review the contents of the agent. Starting June 14, 2025, all preview agents will be read-only.
- Select Migrate to automatically package and migrate the agent, including the definition and evaluations, into a solution package. Once in Studio Web, you can continue to built, test, and evaluate your agent.
- From Studio Web, select Publish to publish the new solution.
- In Orchestrator, check the package requirements and deploy the solution as a process. For details, refer to Deploying agents.
- Update your existing processes that use preview agents. Manually edit each process to replace the initial agent with the agent process deployed from the solution.
- Upgrade and redeploy the new processes.
