Agents general availability

We are pleased to announce the general availability of UiPath® Agents. This release introduces the following new features:

Agent monitoring in Orchestrator

You can now leverage agent monitoring capabilities in Orchestrator. In addition to viewing charts of live and completed instances, agents with most errors, and agent unit consumption, you can examine records of incidents and per-agent execution information. For details, refer to Monitoring agents.

Agent instance management

The redesigned Agents page in Automation CloudTM offers a comprehensive end-to-end instance management experience, providing real-time monitoring, error handling, and performance optimization for all agent runtimes. In this centralized hub, you can efficiently streamline agent migration, monitor deployments, and manage incidents. For details, refer to Managing agents.

Migrating agents to Studio Web

As we move towards the full capabilities of UiPath Agents, here is what's next:

Starting May 14, 2025, Studio Web is the primary design and evaluation canvas for agents. The original Agent Builder will remain accessible for existing agents created during the Preview period, and only for users with prior access. However, it no longer supports creating new agents. New customers onboarding after May 14 will exclusively use Studio Web for creating and designing agents, without access to the original Agent Builder.

Starting June 14, 2025, all agents in Agent Builder will transition to a read-only state. To continue working with these agents, use the Migrate option to transfer them into Studio Web solution projects. This migrates your agent definition, evaluations, and escalation apps to a new solution with an agent project. To learn what are the current limitations for agents in solutions, refer to Limitations.

By October 30, 2025, you need to migrate all agents created in Agent Builder to Studio Web, as solution packages. To facilitate this transition, UiPath offers a one-click migration tool accessible through the Automation Cloud™ Agents landing page, allowing for seamless agent migration and process updates. After October 30, 2025, all agents created in Agent Builder will be deleted. Please contact your sales representative for any additional questions or assistance.

Unified Pricing

We are excited to announce Unified Pricing, our innovative licensing paradigm that brings new licensing plans, user licenses, and a consolidated consumption unit. UiPath Agents is now available through Unified Pricing, and its license consumption is measured by Platform Units.

For extensive release notes, refer to the Automation Cloud release notes and Test Cloud release notes guides. For overview licensing information, refer to the Automation Cloud admin guide, Test Cloud user guide, and the Overview guide.

For details on the Agents consumption logic, refer to the Agents user guide.

Coded agents general availability

We are excited to announce the general availability of coded agents within the UiPath Platform, marking a significant advancement in our agent capabilities.

By leveraging familiar development environments and the UiPath SDK, developers can create customized automation solutions that seamlessly integrate with the UiPath Platform. The key features of coded agents include:

  • Flexible configuration: Use environment variables for easy configuration changes without modifying code, improving adaptability and security.
  • Human-in-the-loop capabilities: Implement interrupt points for human intervention, allowing for supervised automation when needed.
  • Advanced debugging: Enable detailed tracing and debugging with LangSmith for improved troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Resource accessibility: Directly interact with UiPath resources (assets, queues, buckets, context grounding) using UiPath SDKs.
  • Scalable execution: Run on Automation Cloud Robots – Serverless, providing scalability and reducing infrastructure management overhead.
  • Enhanced governance: Operate under the same governance principles as other UiPath processes, ensuring consistent management and monitoring.

The following illustration outlines the process of creating, deploying, and executing a coded agent within the UiPath platform.

Figure 1. The process includes: 1) Defining the agent logic in an IDE, 2) Establishing a secure connection to UiPath, 3) Deploying the agent to Orchestrator, and 4) Executing the agent within the UiPath ecosystem.

Coded agents expand the UiPath Platform's versatility, complementing our existing agent types, including UiPath system agents (such as Autopilot), UiPath built agents (created using Studio Web and Agent Builder), and the ability to incorporate external agents. This comprehensive approach ensures that organizations can leverage the most suitable agent for each specific automation task.

For details, refer to Coded agents.
