Upload Files

UiPath.GSuite.Activities.UploadFilesConnections

Description

Uploads files to Google Drive in a specified location.

Project compatibility

Windows | Cross-platform

Configuration

  • Connection - The connection for the Google Workspace account to use in the activity.
  • File(s) - The file or files to be uploaded. Use the Plus docs image button menu to switch to Collection Builder or Use variable input modes. This field accepts IResource input.
    • If you select Use variable, you can use the output variable from other activities.
  • Destination folder - The destination folder for the specified file or files. Browse the Google Drive folders and select a destination folder. Use the Plus docs image button menu to switch to Use variable (IResource type) or Url or ID input (String) modes.
    • If you select Use variable, you can use the output variable from other activities, such as Create folder.
Additional options

Options

  • Overwrite existing file - Specifies how file name conflicts are handled. If True is selected, an existing file with the same name as the file being uploaded is overwritten (an error is returned for multiple files with the same name). If False is selected, a new file with the same name is created.
  • Convert to Google Workspace file types - Specifies whether the uploaded files should be converted into Google Workspace file type, such as a Google Doc or Sheet.

Important: If you receive an Internal Error [500] message on this activity, this may be caused by a file size issue. Some Excel files aren't successfully converted to the Google Sheets MIME type when they exceed size limits for importing Excel files. Be aware that there's no official documentation regarding all of the limitations currently imposed by Google. This official article explains that the cell count is set at 10 million, while a Google support article mentions that we can convert 40 000 new cells at a time, but doesn't provide details on what the limitations are for various operations.

Output

  • First uploaded file - Reference to the first uploaded file for use in other activities.
  • Uploaded files list - Reference to all of the uploaded files for use in other activities.
