Clipboard AI User Guide
Pasting in templates
This capability allows you to populate existing PowerPoint and Word templates with data from your source document.
Prior to using the Paste in templates option, you need to have the templates ready. Clipboard AI currently support PowerPoint and Word files.
Clipboard AI supports PowerPoint (PPT) and Word (DOC) templates. To use this feature effectively, you must include placeholders in your template. These placeholders tell Clipboard AI where to insert data from your source document. Placeholders can represent both text and images.
A placeholder is enclosed in double brackets, as follows: {{placeholder}}. Clipboard AIrecognizes this format and fills these fields with the corresponding data from your source document. This process ensures that:
-
No unnecessary rows are added
-
The original slide layout is maintained
Clipboard AI intelligently populates the placeholders with the appropriate information, preserving the structure and design of your template.
Experiment with placeholders: insert a word, a sentence, or more complex expressions such as {{ name for each team member as table }} to automatically generate a slide for each team member in your presentation.
When the source document contains multiple data sets that match the placeholders, Clipboard AI creates a new page in the template for each set of data.
Image extraction happens on your device, as images are not sent to the server for processing. By default, the option is disabled.
To include images in your templates, you need to:
-
Indicate the location of the image in your template by using a placeholder such as {{image}}.
-
In Clipboard AI Settings, select the Enable image extraction checkbox. The Enable image extraction option is automatically enabled. By deafult, the option is
-
Optionally, to filter what images are extracted from your data source based on images dimensions, provide minimum values for image height and width, in pixels. If you want to extract all images from the source document, deselect the Enable image filtering checkbox.
