Automation Ops™ User Roles

By default, users in the Administrator group in your organization have full access to features in Automation Ops™.

The following actions in Automation Ops™ can be done only by the UiPath® Organization Administrator:
  • Assign Automation Ops™ roles to users.
  • Perform the Pipelines Quick Setup (setting thePipelines environment and also deleting it).
  • Access Manage Feeds.
  • See the projects from UiPath® Cloud in Source Control.
As an UiPath® Organization Administrator, you can assign specific Automation Ops roles to other users. These roles, with their own permissions, are:

Note:

When switching between Automation Ops roles or assigning a new role, there might be a 5 minutes or more delay until the new permissions are granted based on your new Automation Ops role.

Automation Ops Administrator

The Automation Ops Administrator role grants you access to Automation Ops™ features, except accessing Manage Feeds and setting Pipelines environment (also deleting the Pipelines environment).

The following table describes the full list of permissions that you inherit when the Automation Ops Administrator role is assigned to you.

Policy:

  • List - list governance policies.
  • Read - display a governance policy.
  • Write - create policy.

Policy Deployment:

  • Read - display deployed policies.
  • Write - deploy policies.

Template Settings:

  • Read - read current template settings.
  • Write - set current template version.

Pipelines

Pipeline:

  • Read - list pipelines, view pipeline jobs and logs.
  • Write - create/edit/run pipeline.

Runtime Environment:

  • Read - view runtime environment details.

Solutions

Solutions:

  • Access - acccess Solutions Management.

Source Control

Connection:

  • Read - view connection details.
  • Write - manage connection settings.

Project:

  • Read - view projects.
  • Write - synchronize projects.
Note: For the Automation Ops Administrator to be able to manage all projects in Automation Ops™ such as the ones related to Source Control or Pipelines, it must also have specific permissions to all dependencies of that project, such as folders or automation parts of that project.

Automation Ops Contributor

The Automation Ops Contributor grants you access to Automation Ops features, except Manage Feeds. It does not allow you to make Organization-level configurations such as: governance policy deployment, connecting to 3rd parties source control providers or setting Pipelines environment (also deleting the Pipelines environment).

The following table describes the full list of permissions that you inherit when the Automation Ops Contributor role is assigned to you.

Orchestrator permissions

For Solutions Management, the user needs the Solutions Contributor or Solutions Administrator roles granted in Orchestrator.

For Automation Ops™ - Pipelines, the user needs access to the Pipeline runtime folder, i.e., Automation Developer.
