November 2023
We've re-imagined the project creation process in Task Mining, focusing on making Assisted Task Mining (ATM) more intuitive and accessible. As most of our Task Mining users now leverage ATM to document their tasks and analyze them across different users, we've elevated ATM as the cornerstone of our product offering. Now, when you start a new project, ATM is the default option, aligning with its widespread usage and user preference.
For those engaged in more complex scenarios like task discovery, Unassisted Task Mining remains a powerful tool. This feature, now positioned as an advanced option, is best utilized with guidance from UiPath® Professional Services or a UiPath technology partner.
Here are the key updates in this release, designed to simplify and enrich your Task Mining experience:
-
Simplified Project Setup: Start your Assisted Task Mining project effortlessly. Just input a project name and description, and you're ready to go.
-
Unassisted Task Mining as an Advanced Feature: Unassisted Task Mining is now categorized as an advanced feature, ensuring a clear navigation with added guidance before you embark your project.
-
Enhanced Access to Advanced Options: Users can activate Unassisted Task Mining seamlessly from the Advanced options, maintaining flexibility for your project needs.
-
Guided Self-Assessment Tool: Prior to starting an Unassisted Task Mining project, utilize our new assessment spreadsheet. This tool aids in determining the suitability of your project.

Task Mining Workforce Intelligence is now available in Private Preview.
Workforce Intelligence allows you to capture desktop activity data at scale to better understand where your teams are spending their time and further identify process discovery opportunities. With the help of Workforce Intelligence, you can:
-
capture data for 100s of machines,
-
collect aggregated team metrics.
This enables you to gain valuable insights on employee time allocation and will help you to optimize workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Private Preview is only available to those that registered to the UiPath® Insider Program. If you'd like to register, go to insider.uipath.com.
New project status
As a project administrator, you can now easily detect the status of the recording for your project with the new Recording error project status. If one recording user has a recording error, the project status will be set to Recording error while other users are recording normally. You can still run analysis for a project with recording error. In that case, the status will show Analysis in progress.
See also Project status.
Running analysis
For Unassisted Task Mining projects, you can now run an analysis with a dataset of any size. For example, you can record a few hundred actions and generate results for testing purposes.
Although we recommend 50K actions as a baseline for an analysis, there is no longer a minimum number of actions required for running an analysis.
-
